Kodo Yamagishi was assistent of conductor of opera productions, Gianni Schicchi at the Summerfestival in Klosterneuburg (Austria, 1997), L'isola disabitata and Armida, at the Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt (Austria, 1998 and 1999) and Turandot of Puccini and Tosca in “Opern Air” in Gars am Kamp (Austria, 2001 and 2002). In 2000 he was the musical director of “L'Enfant et les Sortiléges” in Tübingen (Germany). In 2002 he conducted about 70 concerts with the Salon Orchestra of Merano (Italy).
From 2002 to 2004 he worked as repetiteur and kapellmeister at the Pfalztheater in Kaiserslautern (Germany), where he had opportunity to conduct 16 performances of operas (Die Entführung aus dem Serail and Frau Luna of Paul Linke), and he was the musical director of “Die Sekretärinnnen” of Franz Wittenbrink (8 recitals).
In 2004 he conducted the National Symphony Orchestra of the City of Oradea in Romania (1st Piano Concert of Beethoven and Symphony No 9 of Schubert), and since the season 2004/05 he works as assistent conductor of the Opera Choir of the National Theatre of São Carlos, in Lisbon. In 2009 Feb-April he was invited to conduct the Chorus of Statstheater Opera and Ballet in Istanbul, for “Orphee et Eurydice” of Gluck.
He studied at the University of Music in Vienna. He was a student of the Piano and Orchestral Conducting of class U. Lajovic and conducted the Pro Arte Orchestra in Vienna. He completed a Masters at the same institution. At that time he worked as repetiteur and conductor of opera productions at the university and He has participated in masterclasses of conducting an orchestra in Vienna, (3rd Prize 2002 and 2003) and also in Cairo (Conducted “Haydnvariation” of _Brahms in the Finalconcert), and for piano in Weimar and interpretation of Lieder with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau in Stuttgart. Since 1997 serves as assistent masterclass for conductors with E. Acel.
In 2006 he was the winner of the Prize "Finalist" (2nd place) of the “II. international competition for conductors, Prize OSESP" in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
